Buffalo Suede #1 is a premium suede hide with a soft nap, flexible feel, and cleaner usable sections, making it a beautiful choice for projects where appearance and workability both matter. It cuts, stitches, fringes, and shapes well for moccasins, bags, pouches, garments, regalia accents, beadwork, appliqué, trim, fringe, repairs, and soft leather accessories. The cleaner grade makes it especially useful for visible project areas, larger panels, and matching pieces where you want a more polished finished result. As with all natural leather, each hide may vary in grain, markings, shape, and usable area.

Tears very easily

Size was great but the leather tears very easily. Looks to be a bout 3mm thick so you would assume it would be durable enough but may not work for me as a sheath for tools.

This buffalo suede is a soft, flexible split hide, so it may not be the best choice for tool sheaths or other high-stress uses. For that type of use, a firmer full-grain or heavier vegetable-tanned leather is usually a better choice.
